The RPS International Photography Exhibition (IPE) tours the UK and Ireland each year, celebrating the best in photography from around the world. 

Entry is via an open-call, encouraging submissions from international photographers of all levels. Alongside exhibiting in the touring exhibition, £4,000 is awarded to support future photographic projects. The selected exhibition from the IPE 162 call opens at RPS House Bristol in early 2020.

Early-entry prize draw: 30 June 2019
Submission deadline: 29 July 2019, 23:59 BST
Notify shortlisted entrants: 28 August
Print submission window for shortlisted entrants: 28 August - 20 September
Selection days: 29 - 30 October
Notify selected entrants: by 8 November

Exhibition Selection Panel:

Each year, the exhibition is chosen by a selection panel of respected industry leaders. For the IPE 162 we are delighted to welcome:

Skinder Hundal MBE, CEO/Director of New Art Exchange
Cian Oba-Smith, Editorial and Commercial Photographer
Yan Wang PrestonPhotographic Artist and lecturer in photography at the University of Huddersfield
Tom Seymour, Freelance Arts Journalist for publications including The Art Newspaper, Wallpaper, CNN, British Journal of Photography, Creative Review and The Guardian.

Entry Overview: 

- Open to student, amateur, professional and non-professional photographers worldwide, of any age
- Open-call with no categories
- All subjects and approaches eligible, including alternative photographic processes 
- Online entry of up to 6 images, from a series or as single images. Each image can be a maximum of 10MB and must be JPG format
- Ability to edit your uploaded entry at any time, before finally submitting
- Entrants remain anonymous during the selection process 
- Deadline: 29 July, 23:59 (BST)
- Shortlisted photographers submit prints for final stage, kindly supported by creativehub 
- Shortlisted photographers can take advantage of a free printing offer with guaranteed delivery

Exhibition's History:

The International Photography Exhibition (formerly the International Print Exhibition) is steeped in history, having been held almost every year since 1854 - the year after The RPS was founded. It is the world's longest running photographic exhibition. In the early years, the IPE included work from some of the world's most eminent photographers, including Julia Margaret Cameron, Roger Fenton, Edward Steichen and others.
