Please note new date for this meeting.
Regular meeting of the North West Contemporary Group. All welcome.
We meet in the Days Inn Hotel at the north-bound Charnock Richard services, between junctions 27 and 28 of the M6.
The meetings are held bi-monthly, normally on a Monday evening, starting at 7.30pm.
A small contribution is collected to cover the cost of hiring the meeting room.
Meetings of Contemporary North West are held every two months, on the odd-numbered months of the year, usually on the second or third Monday of the month.
The meeting on the 22nd of September 2014 will discuss the making of a Photobook:
I think a number of us have by now made one or more photobooks, which is becoming an increasingly popular method of displaying, and indeed, using, photographs. The evening will be devoted to ‘the photobook experience’ and should proove interesting, we can each talk about our own method of making our book: how we got and developed the idea; how we set it up and chose the images; what we were hoping to get out of it; what we think a good book should be like; and so on. We might then look at the resulting book(s). The object will be to swap experience and ideas, with the aim (of course) of producing something better next time, and encouraging those of us who have not yet attempted one to have a go. It would be, in effect, a do-it-ourselves photobook workshop. I think this could work if we have enough people willing to take part.
