This weekend is aimed at nature and wildlife photographers of all levels who are interested in working towards ARPS in Natural History.

(If you already have an ARPS and are interested in pursuing your Fellowship in Natural History, please email the organisers on  We may be able to make additional arrangements if there is sufficient interest)

The weekend has been designed as a whole but delegates are welcome to attend one or both days

Saturday: Delegates are invited to bring images for informal portfolio feedback and/or to bring a panel of images for formal advice. Sessions will include a chance to view successful ARPS (printed and digital) and hear from their authors.

Sunday: Photographers are invited to participate in practical workshops with Joan Ryder and Clive Rathband.  Sessions will include a) a closer look at successful ARPS printed and projected panels, b) ‘selecting appropriate images for natural history distinctions’ c) the art of putting printed and projected image panels together’ and d) an introduction to using Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop to help put your panel together.

Candidates wishing to attend for their own formal Advisory session ONLY will be sent an appointment time for Saturday 25th July. Duration will be 30-45 mins.  Please note that this remains an open-session in front of the day delegates.

Day or weekend delegate tickets include unlimited tea & coffee, water and a sandwich lunch. (Please advise if you have any special dietary requirements.)

Cancellation policy

Please inform The Society as early as possible if you have to cancel your attendance at the event, distinction advisory day or assessment, or workshop. Generally speaking, we do not give refunds for events costing £5.00 or less. For events costing more than that, we are unable to refund your payment or transfer you to another event less than fourteen days beforehand. However, if we can resell your ticket we will refund the cost in full. In the unlikely event of The Society having to cancel an event we will normally give you at least one week’s notice and your ticket cost will be refunded in full.
