The first part of Leigh’s presentation will show pictures of the urban landscape in his personal style, which also include a lament for places that have changed. The second part is all about the privilege of being at events, concerts and watching the 'street' performances in everyday life.

A lot of the work is monochrome, and darkroom as well as digital processes are used, depending on the ‘feel’ wanted from the finished print.

Now semi-professional, Leigh’s work revolves around teaching at college or on workshops and at seminars in the UK , also in the USA and Europe. Leigh sat on the RPS distinctions panels for over 20 years, and is a member of Arena and the London Salon.  Leigh has been taking and making pictures for well over thirty years. In that time, the work has been mainly thematic, working in photographs as a series, and relies heavily on atmospherics, dramatic lighting and strong storylines to convey an individual style. His personal work is often taken either in isolated, out of the way places, or of buildings and landscapes that are well past their ‘sell-by’ date.

Leigh Preston Photography encompasses a variety of areas within the modern photographic scene, including tuition, image processing and, of course, actually taking photographs.
