Our day will start with a meet in the main car park at 6.45 am for a briefing and then to the running shed for photographing the locos being prepared for the day working on the Heritage Transport gala day. After leaving the sheds by around 8.30am, this is about the time locos will start to move, we will have the opportunity to explore around the site and possibly visit the workshops. This is yet to be confirmed. We can then visit the cafe if you wish to for breakfast or just a cup of tea or coffee. The entry fee includes a ticket for a trip down the line to Totnes and back, calling at Staverton where you will have the opportunity to see the equipment used on track work etc as well as visit the buffet coach if desired. At Totnes is the Rare Breeds Farm, an additional entry fee is needed, visit Totnes town or return on the train to Buckfastleigh where there should be a collection of heritage vehicles.
Entry to the early morning running shed will only be to those who have some form of ORANGE hi visibility clothing, yellow is not acceptable.
Please ensure you book as there will be no entry on the day as we have to advise SDR of numbers attending.
The cost of £15 per person for members, £20 per person for non members and is a donation to the SDR and includes train fare.
We must meet at 6.45am for a H & S briefing.
