Advanced Lightroom with Tim Daly – Creative editing techniques

Learn how to get the best out of Presets, make stylish monochrome conversions and develop your own custom editing styles. Learn how to make slideshows with sound clips and images.

Topic 1: Lightroom Preset essentials

How to use and modify Presets and how to import third-party Preset packs

Topic 2: Creative monochrome in Lightroom

Learn how to get the very best results using the B&W mixing functions

Topic 3: Create your own Presets

Learn how to develop multiple edits of your images using Snapshots, Virtual Copies and your own Presets.

12.30-13.15 Lunch

Topic 4: Slideshow Essentials

Learn how to prepare and sequence images and text for a slideshow presentation and how to incorporate a custom Identity Plate

Topic 5: Using sound clips

Learn how to include music or sound into your Slideshow and basic editing techniques

Topic 6: Finishing and exporting

Testing and tweaking your final edit and exporting for screen display or online use

What you need to bring along

A USB stick or portable hard drive with 50 of your own images – alternatively the tutor will provide sample files for you to work with.

Please bring a packed lunch or use local amenities – There is a Co-op, pub and deli open on Saturday, the Deli is shut on the Sunday.

Parking: There is no parking at the RPS on week days but there are spaces available in the surrounding streets.  At weekends you can park in the RPS car park which is accessed to the left of the building through a gateway.

Cancellation policy

Please inform us as soon as possible if you are unable to attend a course as it is not possible to refund any cancellation or transfer to another workshop less than 14 days prior to course start date. The Society reserves the right to cancel a workshop 7 days prior to its start date - please check your hotel and travel cancellation policy as this may be affected. If you are attending one of our workshops that involves a trip out please ensure you bring all weather clothing and protection for your camera. Persons under the age of 16 are welcome to attend events but, to conform with UK law, must be accompanied by a parent, guardian or responsible adult.
