Dinorwig quarry is a disused slate quarry above Llanberis in North Wales, close to Mount Snowdon.  It offers many fascinating and varied opportunities to the outdoor photographer; from panoramic views of Snowdonia to old quarry buildings and machinery to details and textures in the beautiful waste slate that covers the hillside.

This event requires walking over rugged terrain and all would-be participants are asked to read the attached information sheet before booking.

Participants will be guided to two alternative starting points.  The first involves a steep but attractive walk up to the quarry from the valley floor.  The second involves parking higher up the hillside and walking over mostly level ground to the quarry site.  Within the quarry site itself, the best photographic opportunities will be presented to those who are willing and able to walk between various locations at differing altitudes over rough terrain.

Depending on the weather, the day may finish earlier than planned with a visit to a nearby cafe.
