With the Totally Thames Festival running all month, the focus in September is very much on London’s river. In keeping with this, our London Naturally walk for the month will follow the Thames Path from London Bridge to Rotherhithe, a walk of just over two miles. There’s plenty to see on this stretch even though we won’t always be right by the river.

The Thames Lens photography competition runs in conjunction with the festival so this walk will be an opportunity for participants who might be interested in entering to take photos for the competition. If you are thinking of doing that, you’d probably find it helpful to review the requirements in advance.

We meet on London Bridge – on the south-east side of the bridge at the top of the steps leading down to the Thames Path (heading toward HMS Belfast). London Bridge is the closest station.

We finish the walk at Rotherhithe where there’s the option of a pub lunch.

The walk will be on mainly made-up, level paths but will include a few steps. Please bring a drink to keep you hydrated, especially if it’s a hot day.
