The iconic Forth Bridges on the Firth of Forth in Central Scotland will be the subject of this long-exposure and low-light workshop. The first part of the workshop will start mid-afternoon, focusing on long-exposures using ND filters. The second part will then naturally progress in to a low-light imagery as darkness draws in and the bridges are illuminated.

The afternoon will involve two locations starting at South Queensferry and then a quick car ride across the new bridge to North Queensferry.  Tutoring and location knowledge will be provided by local photographer Stuart Sly who has photographed the bridges more times than he can count.  Stuart will be able to offer further advice to anybody who wants to continue shooting into the evening by themselves.

As access to beach and rocky areas is needed, this session unlikely to be suited to those with restricted mobility.

There is free parking available at the meeting point.

Participants should bring:

  • cameras, tripods, ND filters
  • warm clothes and sturdy footwear
  • hats and gloves
  • snacks and hot drinks (optional).
