About the Seminar

In years gone by, travel was more about pilgrimage as a religious journey with pilgrims seeking a change in their lives. Then there was the Grand Tour with the elite classes indulging on educational and cultural expeditions. Nowadays travel is all about escape, experience and discovery in the hope we can leave something behind as we explore unfamiliar lands, forge new memories and learn that bit more about ourselves.

We will explore the main categories of travel photography and investigate what expectations picture editors have when assessing imagery in this arena. By deconstructing a range of imagery, this seminar examines what makes powerful travel stories with a view to inspiring attendees to consider their own approach with a fresh perspective.
