As most landscape photographers know, the Outer Hebrides present a vast range of photographic opportunities – often accompanied by a vast range of dramatic weather!

Landscape group member and Lewis resident Tim Parish LRPS will be leading a week-long holiday to Lewis and Harris in the spring of 2018, guiding participants to some of the well-known photographic locations as well as to a good few that he has researched himself specifically for this trip.

Participants will stay three nights at the Cabarfeidh Hotel in Stornoway and then move to the Harris Hotel in Tarbert for a further four nights.  Prices below include seven nights’ dinner, B&B and six packed lunches.  Guests with special diets or other needs should contact the hotels before booking to ensure that they are able to meet your requirements as refunds cannot be given once a booking has been made.

Also included in the holiday price is the cost of transport to the various locations visited during the week.  Participants will be responsible for their own travel to and from the island.  To keep prices to a minimum we will not be hiring a minibus but asking for participants to offer to drive their own vehicles around the island and to offer lifts to others.  Expenses will be paid to drivers at the RPS rate of 45p / mile.  Please indicate if you are willing to do this when booking as the viability of the week depends on it.

Participants are able to bring a friend or partner if they wish and discounted rates are available to those sharing a room.

Inevitably, given the location and the time of year, each day’s activities will be subject to the weather and Tim will use his local knowledge to ensure that locations are visited in such a way as to make the best of the daylight, the weather and the tides.

Cancellation policy

Once the minimum number of bookings has been received we will enter into contracts with the two hotels and no refunds will be given for cancellations. Participants may, however, be able to transfer their place to somebody else. If the minimum number of bookings is not received, the holiday will be cancelled and full refunds given.

Hearing and access requirements

Would-be participants should assure themselves BEFORE BOOKING that the hotels are able to meet any special dietary or other requirements. Some of the locations visited during the week may be unsuitable for some people with limited mobility. If you are unable to walk safely over uneven and exposed terrain you must contact the event organiser BEFORE BOOKING to discuss whether the holiday is suitable for you. Please note the cancellation policy!
