A workshop designed to explore shape, texture and composition in the built environment. We will photograph the modern architectural spaces in Manchester including The Hilton Hotel, Spinningfields district, New Islington, Castlefield, Wilmot street and finishing at dusk in Media City, Salford Quays.

We will use long exposure filters where necessary to create a juxtaposition between the fluid movement of the sky and the structure of the building and polarisers to remove reflections on surfaces and boost saturation of colours. Another key aspect of the workshop will be learning how to ‘see’ shape and use compositional skills to create beautiful abstracts.

This will be a group C event.

What to bring:

  • Tripod
  • walking boots
  • ND filters and polariser
  • wide angle lens
  • mid-range telephoto zoom
