A graduate in Fine Art from Reading University (1976-1980), Joe has been a working photographer, writer and educator for most of his adult life. His career has followed different stages and paths, but the unifying theme has been landscape and the wild world, and a dedication to conservation and environmental issues.

In 2008 he was made an Honorary Fellow of the RPS, and has served on the Distinction panels since then. He is now Chair of the Fellowship Board, and a Trustee of the North Yorks Moors National Park Trust. His Gallery in North Yorkshire displays the work of high quality landscape and nature photographers, and has a mission to promote youth and diversity.

Joe has led workshops home and abroad for over 20 years, and has presented numerous events, including the Natural History Museum’s Understanding Photography Masterclass evenings. He loves to work with other artists and creative people and has collaborated in numerous joint exhibitions.

Joe prints all his own work digitally at home, and has also undertaken exhibition printing for other photographers. He will have prints to examine in the hand, and he will present the following talks during the day:

1. Landscape photography and the other Arts (finding ideas and inspiration in painting, sculpture, poetry, dance, architecture, music)

2. iPhone to 8x10; The daily craft of landscape photography.

3. One Land, One Ocean; A landscape photographer in the polar regions

4. Evolution and Revolution; A landscape photographer’s Life

5. In depth Q&A
