A one day cityscape workshop in the stunning capital of Scotland with local photographer Stuart Sly.

From meeting at the Duke of Wellington statue on Princess St, we will explore some great locations and view points of the city that can provide some amazing cityscape images.  There will be many opportunities to shoot between locations as the capital offers lots of hidden compositions within the urban landscape.

Advice will be given on the use of long exposures, black and white photography and using filters to create effects and atmosphere.

There are plenty of places to eat around the city so, wherever we are when we break for lunch, participants will be free to find a place to eat-in or somewhere to sit with a packed lunch if they’d prefer.

Please bring / wear:

- Camera
- Filters
- Tripod
- Clothing suitable for the weather conditions on the day
- Snacks/drinks as needed for a full day’s photography, however, there will be shops available to purchase such things throughout the day if participants wish.

We’ll be on our feet for most of the day., with some hills involved and plenty of steps, so an energetic day that may not suit people with mobility problems.

Toilet facilities – there are plenty of places in the city for toilet breaks.

This will be a category C event for up to 8 participants.

To get to the meeting point public transport is recommended as it’s the most cost-effective way to travel into the city, (standard city car parking rates will apply all day). Transport will not be needed during the day as we will be walking between locations.
