December 31st

On Tuesday 31st December we will meet at 11 am in front of Hunstanton Pier.  Hunstanton is renowned for its unique striped cliffs and magnificent sunsets, made special by its position as the only west-facing resort on the East coast. The seaside town began as a purposely-built resort in 1846 and retains its Victorian charm and character to this day, remaining a popular holiday destination for visitors of all ages. From buzzing family activities such as Crazy Golf, Pitch-and-Putt, and the Oasis Leisure Centre to the tranquil Esplanade Gardens there is something for everyone. High tide is 9.10; low tide 15.40 so the town, ‘pier’, promenade, ‘fair’ in morning and then down onto beach as tide recedes giving foreground for the cliffs and sunset.

January 1st

Morning- We will meet at 10am at RSPB Titchwell for Bird watching and Wide Beach Scenery.  Titchwell Marsh has diverse habitats that include reedbeds, saltmarsh and freshwater lagoons where avocets, bearded tits and marsh harriers nest. There's also a wide sandy beach here, which offers extensive views across The Wash. We will finish around 2pm.

Afternoon– Travel to the seaside town of Cromer to view the firework display.  The display takes place at 5pm on the pier so we will be South of the pier around 4pm.  For information click here

Details of Café and Toilets at Titchwell can be found here.

You will need to make your own way to all the destinations and arrange your own accommodation should you wish to attend both days.  If you wish to attend for just one of the days or even just few hours then please do book and come along.
