This month the London Naturally Group will visit Crane Park which stretches either side of the River Crane and incorporates Crane Park Island Nature Reserve. The walk will start and finish at Whitton Station (South Western Railway).

We will meet at Whitton Station and then wander along Percy Rd to enter the Park at the Hospital Bridge Road entrance a 15-minute walk. We then follow the route of the river through the Park down one side of the river and returning on the other side of the river to complete our circular route. We will past the Shot Tower on route also take a wander around the Crane Park Island Nature Reserve within the park, which is managed by London Wildlife Trust. There's the option of a pub lunch (at your own expense) on route back to the station to finish the walk.

Most of the walk will be on unsurfaced paths and may be muddy so please make sure you wear appropriate footwear. Also please remember to bring a drink to keep you hydrated.

For further information about the Park and Nature Reserve do visit the website https://www.wildlondon.org.uk/reserves/crane-park-island. There is also a useful PDF map on the site that you may wish to download.
