A visit to some of the White Peak locations which include:

  • a high vantage point overlooking a valley using both intermediate lens and long zoom lenses to ‘pick out’ parts of the landscape;
  • an option of a walk to a well- known weir (depending on the weather conditions)
  • Magpie Mine to capture the old mining facilities. Great chance to experiment with composition and and shoot in mono as well as colour;
  • Lumsdale Falls; different cascading falls and surrounding woodland dotted with old mill ruins. A chance to be creative and use long exposures as well as polarising filters to maximise the potential of this location.

Participants should bring / wear:

  • Good quality walking boots (can get rather muddy).
  • Wellingtons would be good for the waterfalls
  • Waterproof clothing
  • Tripod, lenses, filters
  • Packed lunch and drinks
  • Loose change for parking meters.

The day will involve some uneven ground and hill walking may be required depending on the weather.   Toilet facilities near most stops or local villages.  There will be parking charges at some locations.

This will be a category C event for up to 6 people.
