Award winning* professional landscape photographer Jon Gibbs will be sharing his skills and knowledge during a day on the east Norfolk coast.

The day will take in two very differing locations. At Winterton we will explore the Winterton dunes NNR, this will give us opportunities for wider images and also abstract images of the beautiful grasses and mosses to be found here which will have a lovely autumnal shades. We will then move onto Happisburgh where we can shoot the iconic lighthouse and get down onto the beach to practice coastal photography and explore long exposure work.

Bring some snacks and a packed lunch though we can easily call into a café between the two locations.

Most of the walking will be along dunes or the beach. At Winterton there is about a twenty minute walk to the area we’ll shoot around. At the second location (Happisburgh) there will be short walks to the areas we are photographing.  There is about a half-hour drive between locations.

There are public toilets in both locations.

Please bring:

  • camera, lenses, tripod, filters
  • charged batteries and memory cards
  • good outdoor clothing
  • wellies
  • drinks and snacks
  • lunch (optional)
  • money for parking - could be up to £4.

This will be a category B/C event for up to 6 participants.

Please note the timing.... this will be a long day in order to include both sunrise and sunset but participants are, of course, able to leave before the end

*Among other things, Jon is a former winner in both the Landscape Photographer of the Year and International Garden Photographer of the Year competitions.
