We have the use of the Education Centre at Paxton Pits for the day and there will be experts on hand to show you what equipment and techniques you need to get the best results at the macro level. This will include use of Macro lenses, clip-on lenses, extension tubes, flash systems for macro, shallow depth of field work with 'fast' lens, focus stacking both using a rail and in-camera techniques for taking a stack of images. The various software that you can use to process the stack will also be covered.

You are welcome to bring laptops to work on and get advice on the images that you take on the day.

Out in the Reserve, there should still be dragonflies on the wing and plenty of other insects to hone your fieldcraft. It is a great time then for Spiders including the impressive Wasp spider (no promises but we do find them most years in the autumn)

Tea and coffee provided through the day - bring a packed lunch

Ann Miles, Duncan Locke

Full instructions and more detailed programme etc will be sent to those booking at a later date. Please book early as the day will be opened to local photographic groups after RPS Members have had a chance to book places
