Professional judges (including RPS Exhibitions Manager Sally Smart), will choose winners across ten themed categories. They will also choose an overall winner.

 

Categories (anyone can enter four images free of charge into each category): 

1. Urban Landscape - Open now. Closes: 23rd Aug 2018 

2. Wildlife & Nature - Open now. Closes: 23rd Aug 2018 

3. Portraits - Open: 18th Aug 2018 

4. Street Seen - Open: 18th Aug 2018 

5. Black & White - Open: 15th Sep 2018 

6. Smartphone - Open: 15th Sep 2018 

7. Wild Landscape - Open: 13th Oct 2018 

8. Abstract & Creative - Open: 10th Nov 2018 

9. Travel - Open: 7th Dec 2018 

10. Water - Open: 4th Jan 2019 


- Each category’s Judges winner gets a Rohan jacket worth £249.

- Each category’s Crowd Vote winner gets a one-year Digital Camera magazine subscription worth £60. 


An overall winner will also receive the following prizes:

  • £2,500 voucher to spend at mpb.com
  • Sony A7 III & FE 28-70mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS (worth £2,199)
  • £2,000 Rohan shopping experience
  • Rotolight NEO 2 kit (worth £370)
  • CeWe print (worth £50)




Digital Camera Young Photographer of the Year 2019

Running alongside the main competition is the Digital Camera Young Photographer of the Year 2019 (for those who are 25 and under). Categories and opening/closing dates are the same as for the main competition. You can also enter the main competition as well as this one.

- Each category’s Judges winner gets Affinity Photo & Workbooks & £100 cash; worth £213.

- Each category’s Crowd Vote winner gets a one-year Digital Camera subscription & Affinity Photo; worth a total of £108.    

- The top ten expert-voted entries, and the top ten crowd-voted entries, in each of the ten categories will win a copy of Affinity Photo worth £48.99.


An overall Young Photographer of the Year will also receive the following prizes:

  • £3,000 cash
  • Sony Cyber-shot RX10 Mark IV (worth £1,799)
  • iPad Pro with an Apple Pencil (worth £1,387)
