30 Years in 30 Photos

29 May 2018

Open: 2nd June-15th September 2018 at the Caen Memorial Museum

An exhibition presenting the 30 World Press Photo of the Year winners from 1988 - 2018.

Each year for over 60 years, the World Press Photo Foundation has organized a professional photography contest, which rewards the best images by photographers from around the world. The winning image grasps or represents an event or topic that has marked the journalistic news of the year, through various categories such as contemporary issues (social, cultural or political) affecting individuals or societies, sport and the environment.

For the first time, the World Press Photo of the Year winners from the last 30 years are being presented together in one exhibition. The Caen Memorial celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, which presents an opportunity to host this unique exhibition, in partnership with the World Press Photo Foundation.
