The Florida Photographic Foundation, a non-profit organization, has announced its inaugural 2019 MiamiPhotoFest itinerary. 

The event will feature curated exhibits, artist talks, signings, photography workshops, lecture panels, Q&A sessions, giveaways, portfolio reviews, a photobook fair, youth activities and grants. Many of these activities are free to attend.

Selected highlights:

Antoine d’Agata: CODEX, America 1986-2017, which will be Magnum Photographer Antoine d’Agata’s first solo U.S. exhibit, presentation, and book signing. 

Roger Ballen: Ballen, who is known for his strange and extreme work, will present his Theater of the Absurd exhibition.

Ralph Gibson: Talk and book signing.

Bruce Gilden: Will be exhibiting for the first time his poignant series Only God Can Judge Me shot on the streets of Miami and Farm Boys and Farm Girls, a powerful portraiture series on young farm kids.

Michael Itkoff: A conversation on publishing, curating, and portfolio editing by co-founder of Daylight books. Participants are asked to bring their printed photography projects and any project elements to the workshop where Michael and the group will assist in editing, sequencing, and preparing the project for presentation to publishers and/or for self-publishing.

Kerry Payne Stailey: Will exhibit her long term project More Beautiful Broken a series that probes the complicated grief facing those left behind when somebody they love dies by suicide.

Maggie Steber: Leica Ambassador and National Geographic photographer. Steber will exhibit her imaginative dream sequence, The Secret Garden of Lily LaPalma.

Andy Summers: Photographer, and former guitarist for The Police, will present a talk, The Bones of Chuang Tzu exhibition and book signing. 

Projections and multimedia programs are scheduled for every night of the festival including:
