23 October 2014

Region: London

We’re speeding in Bleeding London today.

On the 23rd October in 1970, Gary Gabelich driving the Blue Flame, set a world land speed record of 631.367 mph in Wendover, Utah.  Celebrating the 44th anniversary of this achievement, we’re looking for streets and things related to this record.  So anything speedy or any of the relevant streets, such as Wendover Road in BR2.  But we shouldn’t forget our home-grown record breakers, so we’re also looking for Campbells and Bluebirds.

There are bonus points for Speedwell Street (SE8) and ten bonus points for Speedbird Way (UB7).  There are double points for any streets from the IG, HA, EN and DA postcodes (BPCC 2310).

We’re still looking for post-people for some of the postcode areas. If you can help co-ordinate the streets that have been covered and arrange some coverage of your area, please drop us a line at london@rps.org.
