Region: Northern

The Netherwood Hotel once again provided a warm welcome to the 45 of us who assembled on the damp overcast afternoon of Friday 14th March. This was a special occasion being the 50th ‘Weekend’ organised by the RPS Northern Region…… quite a record!  Colin and Audrey Pawson, along with Jane have attended every one. Unfortunately Fred from Brighton, an adopted member of our Region and another long term attendee, was not well enough to make the journey.

The hotel lived up to its reputation for fine food by providing a tasty and beautifully presented evening meal, during which we renewed friendships and started new ones with some first timers.

Vince Rooker EFIAP DPAGB APAGB started the lecture programme that evening with a DI presentation. It is not an easy slot to fill ---- a warm dark room and a well fed audience. Vince showed us a fascinating selection of images, many recalling trips to America and Europe as well as Ireland, Scotland and nearer home. He also shared with us some of his special interests including horse jumping and still life, all spiced with a little fantasy and humour. No-one fell asleep.
