About Us

We are looking ahead now to 2019 after a succesful 2018 where we have organised meetings, workshops, a distinctions advisory day, field trips and competitions and these can be seen on our 'Events' page. All our events are open to members and non-members. Generally prices for members are discounted.

We have an exhibition of members work opening at 6pm on Monday 3 September in the White Room at Swansea Grand Theatre. Everyone is welcome to attend the preview event. The exhibition will then be open from Tuesday 4 September to Saturday 15 September from 10am to 4pm.

In March 2018 we held a successful field trip to the Museum of National History at St Fagans and hope to make this a regular event. We are planning a field trip to the final day of the Autumn Steam Gala at the Severn Valley Railway on Sunday 23 September.

in August we held a photobook workshop in Swansea Central Library using Bob Books Software. We hope to run this again in the future. Please contact Rhys Jones for more details.

Following our succesful meeting in June with Les Loosemore and Joan Blease, we will be holding a meeting on Sunday September 30 in Briton Ferry where Janet Haines ARPS, Chairman of the RPS Digital Group and local Digital Group member Gary Shinner LRPS will be presenting their work.

Our Regional AGM will be held on Sunday 18 November at St Pauls Community Centre, Gerald Street, Port Talbot followed by a talk on landscape photography and recommended equipment by South Wales based professional landscape photographer, Mari Owen. Real Wales Photography Tours will also outline their activities and programme.

Please contact us for information on events and meetings in South Wales.  Contact details for the South Wales Team can be found on the right of this page in RPS South Wales Team on the South Wales Home page. For any administrative questions about the RPS South Wales Region and to confirm our events please contact our Secretary Rhys Jones on southwalessecretary@rps.org

Our Regional Organiser David Paskin can be contacted on southwales@rps.org

We are always keen to attract new members and welcome ideas to develop our programme in the future. The RPS gives a discounted membership for anyone under 25 so please spread the word. The RPS will be moving into fantastic new Headquarters in the Paintworks Quarter in Bristol and there will be a fantastic opportunity for all South Wales members to take advantage of that.

South Wales has a thriving Audio Visual group and the local Chair Edgar Gibbs FRPS is organiser of the International Audio Visual festival in Cheltenham 22-23 September. Worth a visit for all local members!

All our events are open to the public.
