Format Derby 2019

15 March 2019

SIG: Contemporary

As I left the Premier Inn on 14 March, I found myself ‘volunteered’ to help carry Brian Griffin’s prints to the photobook exhibition at the Old Library, Derby. This event was much larger than two years ago, with about 20 publishers having sales tables.

The next day was extremely windy and I settled for visiting exhibitions in Deda, then to a Brexit themed exhibition with Simon Roberts showing work, along with Mark Duffy, whose book of photos ‘Brexit is Your Fault‘, taken in the House of Commons, was not to be photographed. Then on to a visit to see the Kassel 2018 exhibition of book dummies to see work in the Tramshed, a fabulous building from the past, showing photos which included the portrait of Grayson Perry holding a baby.
