Society staff win awards in the Creative Eye Group’s photo competition

SIG: Creative Eye

The Overall Winning entry was Window Trio from Kew by by Kevin Maskell FRPS (above).


The photo competition between the Royal Botanic Garden, Edinburgh and Kew Gardens was well supported.

Participants included the Society’s Chief Operating Officer, Mike Taylor, who won Highly Commended for his Kew image The Selfie:

Neil Scott FRPS' image Anthurium from Edinburgh was also Highly Commended:

Membership Manager, Simon Bibb, won Commended for his image Autumnal Leaves from Kew:

as also did Sandy Cleland FRPS for his Blue Flower from Edinburgh:

Other Commended images were Theodora through the window of the Waterlily House  at Kew by Jeremy Rodwell ARPS:

and Walls within Walls by Margaret Kay ARPS from Edinburgh:


Comments by the judge, Ann Miles FRPS:

“Super images, so a difficult choice. The overall winner really gave the feel of the Victorian era of the glasshouse zenith – like a William Morris stained glass window or tapestry”.
