Telephoto lenses and landscape

Mention "landscape" and many photographers think of wide vistas, often taken with a wide angle lens.  But the long lens should also be a friend of the landscape photographer, allowing us to capture just the important elements of a scene, to shorten perspective and to narrow the depth of field.  A long lens can be particularly useful in creating abstract landscape images too.

Photographer Mark Bauer recently penned this article for Amateur Photographer.
