A Rainy Morning at Stonehenge

Taking advantage of English Heritage's "Stone Circle Access" arrangements, 21 members of the landscape group headed off to Stonehenge one very early and very wet March morning. The weather on the previous day had been delightful - just as the following day would prove to be. But on the morning that our visit was planned, there was very heavy cloud and plenty of light rain. The hoped-for sunrise was nowhere to be seen. Nevertheless, as landscape photographers, we were all used to disappointing weather and so we just made the best of what we had; moody atmosphere and a rare chance to get up close to the stones.
