About this image

Ultra-Orthodox Jews celebrate the Purim holiday in the Mea Shearim neighbourhood in Jerusalem. According to the Jewish religion, Purim is a time for happiness. Most Israelis have parties and wear costumes, but the Ultra-Orthodox community takes celebrations to the extreme, and all the men drink wine, sing loudly and dance. As part of the tradition, this is the only day of the year when children are allowed to smoke!
