About this image

Photograph showing lymphangiomas and angiokeratomas clustered on the leg of a patient. Localised abnormalities in the lymph system affect normal skin growth. This causes multiple small tumours to grow. These often coalesce and may ooze fluid and become infected. As well as causing embarrassment from their appearance, such clusters may cause discomfort and restrict mobility. This image was captured in a studio using a Nikon D90 camera and 105mm macro lens, with lateral diffuse flash lighting. Medical Illustration Services, Perth Royal Infirmary, Perth, United Kingdom
