About this image

In Taitung, Taiwan, throwing firecrackers at the Han Dan Master is more of a religious practice. The man who volunteers himself as the Han Dan Master stands on a carriage carried by four men in a parade where the crowd throws firecrackers at him. It is believed that the firecrackers can drive the cold away from his body and bring him success and wealth.
