Limited to 6 places – Giving each photographer a chance to work individually with the model and the lighting.
Jon Gray will be showing you how to create stunning but simple beauty lighting techniques.
- the use of an independent light meter,
- creating lighting ratios
- being shown how to create moods suitable for black and white photography
- the use of different lighting modifiers, filters and gels
- the use of different apertures and shutter speeds creating shallow depth of field
- how to pose and direct a model
Jon will be explaining in detail all the technical techniques and issues around lighting each scene while showing you how to arrange the lighting. Then he will be guiding you through important modelling techniques with the model on set.
After this each photographer will work on a one to one with models, you will be given help and advice.
What to Bring:
Equipment required: A DSLR Camera (not a point and shoot) with a 24-105 zoom lens; or prime 24mm, 50mm, 80mm, 100mm, lenses. And plenty of memory cards.
A packed lunch or use local amenities.
All lighting, flash triggers, modifiers lighting gels and reflectors will be supplied.

Please inform us as soon as possible if you are unable to attend a course as it is not possible to refund any cancellation or transfer to another workshop less than 14 days prior to course start date. The Society reserves the right to cancel a workshop 7 days prior to its start date - please check your hotel and travel cancellation policy as this may be affected.
If you are attending one of our workshops that involves a trip out, please ensure you bring all weather clothing and protection for your camera. Persons under the age of 16 are welcome to attend events but, to conform with UK law, must be accompanied by a parent, guardian or responsible adult.
