A Sense of Place - Benedict Brain ARPS
Event info
Discover new ways of engaging with the landscape through the language of photography. This one-day workshop will provide practical tips and advice on photography technique. However, the emphasis will be on looking at ways to explore the landscape through ideas and vision to create a small, but meaningful body of work.
Meet at 10:00hrs at the National Trust Car park, Tan y Celyn, Nant Ffrancon, Bethesda LL57 3LX
Recommended accommodation, The Pen-Y-Gwryd Hotel (http://www.pyg.co.uk/)
What to bring:
Camera kit, ideally one that allows control of the exposure settings. Tripod. There will be a fair amount of modest hiking so sturdy walking boots are essential along with decent outdoor clothing. This will be a "whatever-the-weather" workshop (and it's in Snowdonia) so bring sunscreen and/or full waterproofs. A basic understanding of the fundamental principles of photography is advisable as the emphasis is on ideas rather than basic camera skills. Most importantly an open mind and a willingness to experiment.
