Simon Roberts HonFRPS       

One of Britain’s foremost Contemporary photographers, Simon Roberts HonFRPS, whose work deals with our relationship to landscape and notions of identity and belonging. This image is from his first book, Motherland, and shows ‘Polyarnye Nochi’ meaning polar nights.

One of his current projects concerns the disappearance of ancient broadleaved woodland, with much of it cleared for housing schemes, quarries, golf courses and major infrastructure schemes such as HS2.
