Showcasing our DPOTY Shortlisted and Finalist Entries

A "pop-up exhibition" and awards presentation of our 10 Shortlisted Entries, including the 5 Finalists and overall Winner.  

Entrance is free, but is ticketed.


The Documentary Photographer of the Year (DPOTY) competition is organised by The Royal Photographic Society, Documentary Group. 

From the ten shortlisted entries, five Finalists will be selected, who will have their entries printed and framed for exhibition. A single Winner will be announced at our Finalists event on 11 January, which will be held in RPS HQ.




Plan your visit

Please visit rps.org/visit to help plan your trip. Please be aware that the car park in the Paintworks on a weekday is limited to three hours.  Weekends and evenings after 6pm are unlimited.

Bristol Temple Meads train station is a 30 minute walk to Paintworks.

Local Parking

If you need to bring your car and don’t want to use the Park and Ride Buses, you can book a place to park at a nearby supermarket using this link yourparkingspace.co.uk

You can also park all-day for £5 at Arnos Manor.  Visitors will need to go to the hotel reception to purchase a ticket to display on their windscreen.
