Photography Workshop - Focus on the Next Level

Event info

Are you looking for a new challenge? Would you like to take your Photography to a new level and get your work seen by a wider audience? Do you sometimes feel constrained by producing work for club competitions?

Five members of the Focus Group examine a number of ways that could change the way you approach and plan your photography, and share their experiences of how to take your photography to  “The Next Level”.

Leigh Preston FRPS will share his approach to finding pictures, and ideas on how to develop your own “seeing eye” and photographic style.

Pete Bamforth ARPS Sometimes you need to move outside your comfort zone to get the most out of your photography. Pete will talk about a number of ways to achieve this and the benefits this can bring to your images.

John Bradshaw FRPS. Recently digital workers have begun to value the ethereal and creative qualities of Infra-Red techniques in creative photography. This talk will briefly show the characteristic appearances of IR film and then explore how these can be achieved digitally.

Janey Devine FRPS will look at various aspects of long term projects, with particular reference to documentary work. The talk will be illustrated by the work of a number of influential documentary photographers, as well as some of her own work.

Iain McGowan FRPS And finally.......Presenting and displaying your images. Examples will include joiners and collages, and a number of techniques that avoid the use of Photoshop.

The workshop will be based at the Bradford University Conference Centre - Heaton Mount - where we have access to a fully equipped spacious lecture room.
