Doc Group SE Zoom Meeting 22nd January 2pm - Mark Phillips

Event info

Mark is a documentary photographer based near London, UK.
His photography is largely focussed on 'constructive' stories about people and groups taking action to address societal problems; his current emphasis is on the environment and sustainability.

He originally studied engineering, has a PhD from the University of Cambridge and has researched innovation and social ecosystems, developing multi-perspective approaches to understanding emerging and complex systems. That research informs his current photography projects. His work has been published in various major newspapers and magazines and at solo and group exhibitions in the UK and in Europe. He is a Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society (FRPS) and is currently Chair of the Documentary group of the Royal Photographic Society.

Mark will briefly outline the activities of the RPS Documentary Group and his own photographic journey and projects, including his long-term and ongoing project about the importance of Repair and Reuse to help address sustainability and the climate crisis, and some of his approaches to engaging the public.

In the second half we would like people to present their work, if you would like to do so please mail the address below.
