The 2021 Research Day, held by the RPS Historical Group and Sheffield Hallam University, will be held online on 6 November.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The history of photography in all its facets and manifestations arguably spans 195 years, and therefore the scope of this event is considerable.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
As in previous years, papers from experienced researchers will be welcomed, but we aim to reserve at least half of the time slots for first time presenters. Our continued aim is to encourage new researchers to share their ideas in a friendly and supportive environment. Members wishing to offer a paper of either 10 or 20 minutes should contact Janine Freeston via email@example.com before 15 October 2021.
Due to present circumstances, we can confirm that the event will be wholly online. Presenters will have the option of presenting live or by pre-recording. Technical advice can be provided, and we anticipate organising ‘rehearsals’ for those who request them. If your presentation is recorded, we would hope that you will be available for the Q&A sessions, which will be live.
We hope to publish presented papers in our journal, The PhotoHistorian. Presenters are advised to prepare a draft and liaise with Dr Michael Pritchard in due course. Find our guidance for authors here.
