Directions: Follow Signs to West Williamston village, when in the village look out for a red phone box and take the lane that leads behind it. Continue down this lane until you reach the reserve car park, just before the cattle grid. Do not pass this point as the road leads to a private residence.

Main subject of interest: Insects, Flora and Birds, this reserve has one of the Largest colonies of Brown Hairstreak. Also among the plants of note are Bee Orchid, Fragile Glasswort, Hairy Rock-cress , Hairy Violet and Yellow-wort. Birds include: Curlew, Little Grebe, Grey Heron, Shelduck, Mute Swan, Cormorant and Oystercatcher. Further species present in the woodland include Tawny Owl and Wren.

Additional information: This Field trip is open to all members not Just those booked on the residential weekend, Please note that One leader may change before the day Leader. There are no facilities on this reserve so it’s advised that you bring some money with you in case you need to use a pub toilet.
