Book online for a free ticket but please also email me if you wish to attend this event, as final meeting instructions will be by email.
If you wish to participate in the public Birdwatching Thames Barge trip on the Sunday you will need to book this with Topsail Charters yourself - for details see event for 22nd March. The Premier Inn at Chelmsford (Boreham) would be a good place to stay overnight (I will be staying there).
We have four localities to explore in the area. Depending on the tides we will adjust where we meet and when we visit each. I will send an update on meeting point nearer the visit.
1. In spring, Copperas Wood (part of the Stour Estuary Reserve) is a mass of Wood Anemones and other spring flowers
2. Stour RSPB Estuary Reserve holds large numbers of wading birds and maybe late-staying Brent Geese
3) Manningtree town for refreshments and toilets
4) Mistley Walls to get views of the Waders especially if we have an incoming tide to drive them up the beach. Mute Swans and Gulls are fed here by locals and offer good flight photograph opportunities
