The venue for this event has changed as planning visits have revealed a far greater number of Fungi at Monk's Wood.
Monkwood is jointly owned by Worcestershire Wildlife Trust and Butterfly Conservation and consists of a mixture of mature trees, stands of different ages, coppiced areas and sunny glades and rides. Old and decaying trees are retained throughout the woodland to benefit hole-nesting birds, fungi and invertebrates that depend on them.
More information is available on the following website:
the Reserve is located about ½ mile west of the village of Sinton Green in Worcestershire. Sinton Green can be reached from the A443 Worcester – Hallow – Holt Heath road. If you are coming from the M5 consider leaving the motorway at Junction 6 and taking the A449 Kidderminster road. Travel north to Ombersley (taking the slip road off the A449), turn left in the centre of Ombersley and cross the River Severn at Holt Fleet. This avoids going through the centre of Worcester.
The free car park is located on the right-hand side of the road from Sinton Green.
09.30am meet in the car park. If arriving late, call the Event Organiser on 07989 494232, to catch up with the group.
Please note that there are no facilities on site. Please bring a packed lunch. It is autumn in woodland so it may be muddy – be prepared!
There is free parking on site
