Clowes Wood is an area of mixed woodland managed by the Forestry Commission and is open to the public. It is one of several woods in The Blean Woods complex to the north of Canterbury.
Clowes Wood is located on Radfall Ride. From the M20 take the A249 towards Sheerness to the M2. The M2 leads to the A299. Turn off at Church Lane towards Whitstable and head towards Chestfield. Chestfield Road leads to Radfall Hill, bear right to Radfall Ride and the forest car park is on the left. Goole map.
We will meet in Clowes Wood car park at 09:30. Please bring a packed lunch along with you as we will stop for lunch at about 12:30. If you are going to be late please call Julia Andrew on 07725 560 477.
Please bring with your waterproofs and walking boots. Tripods, macro lenses, cable releases and reflectors are essential for mushroom photography.
The group will need to respect current social distancing rules, but there is plenty of space to spread out and to communicate with each other.
Please note that there are no facilities on site, the nearest superstore with accessible toilets is 7.5 miles away in Reeves Way, Whitstable CT5 3QS.
The car park is free.
