Every winter starlings mass together at roost time in various areas of the UK. This is never very predictable as to timing and numbers but the Somerset levels is one of the prime areas for starling murmurations
We will meet in the car park at Ham Wall at 2pm. Huge numbers of starlings roost in the reed beds here or nearby and often perform spectacular murmurations before funnelling into the reeds at dusk. Large numbers of ducks together with egrets and lapwing may also be seen.
Parking is free for RSPB members – remember to bring your card.
