Lakenheath Fen Reserve is a good location for one of our “days out” and offers a variety of potential photographic opportunities:
- Bitterns / Great White Egrets / Egrets / Marsh Harriers / Grey Heron / Kingfisher / Bearded Tits
- Woodlands Birds including the Photography hide
- Flora and Fauna
- Insects / Otter / Muntjac
For those members that don’t want to wander too far there is a large pond by the Visitor Centre and the Photography hide is close-by. To walk from one end of the reserve to the other is circa 1.5 miles but it is flat ground.
Camera kit: Given the variety of wildlife you could bring a macro lens and the longest lens you have / want to carry
Entrance fee: Free entry for RSPB Members and £4 for guests
Whilst we have attracted several “regulars” on our various days out this year (and we hope you can come to Lakenheath Fen) we very much hope that other RPS Nature Group Members will join our friendly outings.
