Outing to Fermyn Woods Northamptonshire
Event info
Fermyn Woods is part of the ancient Rockingham Forest. We hope to see butterflies like the Marbled White, Purple Emperor and White Admiral, as well as a range of other woodland and grassland insect species. This is an attractive site with grassland and ponds as well as the extensive woodland.
Bring a picnic lunch - there is a Visitor Centre 1.5 miles away from our chosen area with cafe and toilets.
The outing will be led by Ken Rassmussen who is local to the area.

There are no facilities in this part of the woods (no toilets or café). The meeting place is abut 1.5 miles drive away from the Visitor Centre that has full facilities. The postcode goes to a point on Harley way near the Welland Gliding Club. The ride we need is a little way from here opposite the airfield. A detailed map will be sent to all participants nearer the trip
