Visual Art North meeting: RHS Garden Harlow Carr

Event info

With a careful and safe return to ‘face to face’ meetings we would like to take this opportunity to invite you to an outdoor meet with Visual Art North [VAN] group members for a day of creating some beautiful images at the RHS Garden Harlow Carr in Harrogate.

RHS Harlow Carr is located not too far from Harrogate town centre. Car Parking at the site is free but if you arrive by train or live locally and want to walk to the gardens it is a lovely stroll from the Valley Gardens, and up through Pine Woods, which takes approximately an hour at a leisurely pace.

Sitting in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside, Harlow Carr offers a variety of growing landscapes, from running and still water, to woodland and wildflower meadows. Highlights include the lavish main borders, bursting with generous prairie-style planting, and the lush, moisture-loving plants around Streamside. Also, discover the amazing ‘The Four Seasons’ – created by American artist and filmmaker Philip Haas’ incredible three-dimensional interpretations of renaissance inspired paintings, sculptures to celebrate the changing seasons created for garden lovers.

This will be an all-day event running from 10:30 to around 16:00. There will be lots of photographic opportunity to explore the gardens as well as the town itself with its unique spa heritage, busy thriving streets and shops, and the vast open space surrounding the town called the Stray.

It would be wonderful to create some beautiful images with unique approaches that reflect the gardens and surrounding area.

We will meet in the education centre on the site (Jubilee Room) and have access to this room all-day for lunch and coffee breaks.

Meet Point: The Jubilee Room in the visitors’ education centre.
