When asked to describe her work, Anca replies:
" The nude photographer is usually thought to be a male photographer. But there are more and more exceptions. I am one of them. I’ve been told more than once that my work suggests a woman behind it. Indeed, a woman standing behind the camera offers a slightly different vision, has a special kind of innate sensibility, a keener attention for details, a way of creating stories.
From the moment I discovered photography I was interested in fine art nudes, especially in the abstract, conceptual, sculptural, in nature-embedded nudes. Natural light is abundant all throughout my work, partly because I enjoy the way the film immortalizes it. I still shoot most of my simple, straight-forward photographs of twisted deconstructed bodies around my home, a village in western Romania.
I will further explore the nude as a subject, search for new ways of representing the body through conceptualisation and continue to build my own visual allegorical language in which the body becomes a metaphorical object. "
