Deadly by Emma Delves-Broughton, FRPS

Event info

The Women in Photography Group is pleased to host an online talk with the RPS' own Emma Delves-Broughton. Her work is thoughtfully planned and staged, featuring models styled in elaborate costumes and body paint to represent mythological creatures and goddesses who have an 'other-worldly' quality - beautiful but deadly. Her use of boudoir style fashion photography celebrates the strength of presence of these female beings.

Emma was awarded a Fellowship with the RPS in 2018 for her "Deadly" images. Once that project was completed, a selection of the many photographs she's amassed between 2014 and 2020 were carefully curated into her fourth book (self-published) by the same name. Her photographs have been widely published since the 1990's and have appeared in many magazines, within a range of glossy coffee table books and on numerous novel covers. Her work is also collected.

This talk will cover Emma's creative process and the body of work that led to her FRPS achievement and the publication of her latest book.

This event will not be recorded. Ticket sales end at midnight on 28 March, 2022.
