Short Bio : Glenys Garnett

Glenys Garnett BA(Hons) RPS

I live in Wakefield and I worked as an IT specialist in a Further Education College in West Yorkshire for over 30 years. I started my own photography business in 2011 after obtaining a First Class BA (Hons) Degree in Graphic Communication at Leeds Metropolitan University.

I am a visual artist and use photography as my primary medium to realise my creative ideas around nature and the natural environment. My work is pictorialist in nature and my approach is to emphasise the beauty of subject matter through composition rather than document reality.

The creative process is an important part of my work but what matters to me most is the final image, not how I get there. I use a variety of in-camera techniques like ICM and multiple exposure, vintage lenses, scanning and wet mediums like cyanotype to incorporate into my work.
